Emma and Aaron's notes: Screencapture, Slidecasting and Sceencasting tools
Screencasting - printscreen is most basic, more sophisticated tools like SnagIT. Screencasting ultimately allows you to show mouse movements and allow you to add some audio.
bbflashback is one commerical program for creating screencasts.
jing - is really good and free, dumbed down version of their commerical products, no editing software, has a bit of trouble with anything over 5 meg so good for up to 5 mins of audio and video. really good for phone queries - send person a video and talk them through it.
snagIT - click on the web page you want to capture and it will capture it, also capture just a particular menu, or all the text from a particular window. only $50. can do some basic editing, add speech bubbles, circles, ticks stars etc, make hotspots, fuzzy the edges, add tags etc. can then send it to ppt, word etc. it stores all your screencaptures in its library which can then be searched by tags.
Slideshare - website upload power points.
